Company Background

Greytsounds was founded in 1988 because of a growing demand for sounds that was not being met by the manufacturers of the various digital samplers on the market.

Bob Grey, founder of Greytsounds had previously worked for International Music Company (sole distributors of AKAI professional products in the U.S.A.), and prior to that had worked in the keyboard department of one of L.A.'s busiest music stores. Bob has also done extensive session work in the L.A. area, consisting of custom sampling, synthesizer programming, sequencing and MIDI trouble-shooting. Also contributing to the Greytsounds library are Bill Millay, Gabriel Katona (Formerly with Jefferson Starship), John Cox, Dave Kerzner, Troy King, Scott Peer, Doug Scott and Larry Burns - 8 top notch programmers.

Between Bob & Co., they have worked for and designed sounds for such artists as Mick Jagger, Madonna, Stephen Stills, Michael Jackson, Dave Stewart, David Lee Roth, Coverdale-Page, Gorky Park, "Weird Al" Yankovic, The Commodores and Jason Bonham, to name a few.
